Artist Statement:

My art is something of an expression of my inner self. Dealing with severe addiction in the past I often look into the mirror and I know that there is that dark part of me that is buried inside just waiting to bubble up over the surface. Yet, from the outside people see a brighter side of me without knowing what is just beneath the surface. This can often be seen in my work: some images are bright and more dream-like in essence and yet, there are others that reflect those inner demons that I hold at bay. There is always darkness in the back of my head and I guess the best way to let that out and give it a voice is to express it through my art. I often get inspiration from my dreams, as cliche as that sounds, but when that happens the only thing left is to figure out how to turn those dreams into photography that reflects them.

Artist Bio:

I am the owner of Dark Inspiration Studio and have been working in the world of photography for 6 years now. Over the years I have shot everything from weddings to rock bands and everything in between. I have been published in a handful of magazines and become a featured photographer for Twisted Angles. All of which have been amazing experiences.

I never, ever imagined that I would make my career in an art field. I was going to leave high school with a football scholarship or go backpacking across the country. To say I would end up doing photography not only professionally, but as a profession that I LOVE, would have been a hard call back then. However, there was always a strange feeling in the back of my mind “…Hey it might be cool to get into taking pictures.” This thought was in my head for years, and then one day I gave in and bought my first camera.
