“Bundy Fest” Raises Thousands in Funds for The Bundy Museum

Fundraiser Was Held In Response to Financial Hardships

BINGHAMTON, New York. (Dec. 8, 2023) The Bundy Museum of History and Art hosted “Bundy Fest” on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 to raise funds for the museum in response to recent financial hardships, in particular, a devastating loss suffered by the museum’s founder, who remains a major financial supporter of the nonprofit organization.

The fundraiser featured an evening of live music by eight local bands, raffles, an art sale, and a silent auction of crafts made by local artists. Two paranormal investigation groups also tabled in the Harlow Bundy house, and tarot readings and psychic consultations were offered in the house’s dining room. Food was catered by Grassroots Cafe, which operates out of the Bundy Annex during the day, as well as Empire Cold Smoking. Several hundred community members turned out to support the museum and enjoy music and festivities.

Over the course of the weekend, The Bundy Museum raised nearly $7,000 between donations and sales. This money, along with over $17,000 raised since announcing the funding crisis in September, will help the museum keep operating while it secures a sustainable funding base. In the future, the museum will rely on regular fundraisers like Bundy Fest, grants from government and private organizations, and donations from the public to continue serving the community.

People interested in supporting The Bundy Museum’s cause can do so by donating, or by patronizing the Museum’s many offerings and spreading awareness by word of mouth. More information can be found on the Bundy Museum website, www.bundymuseum.org.

About The Bundy: The Bundy Museum of History and Art was founded in 2004, and documents the history of Victorian era Binghamton and the roots of IBM. The Museum hosts rotating art galleries by local artists, several local history exhibits, and offers tours of the Harlow E. Bundy House, a restored Queen Anne Victorian home. The campus is also home to Binghamton Photo, a community darkroom, and WBDY-LP 99.5, a community radio station, as well as several local businesses. The Annex Theater hosts events every week, including music performances, film screenings and variety shows.
