Artist Statement by Josh Lasky:

What is my purpose with photography? Truthfully I can say that I don't know. What I do know is that I started photography because of my children and I will forever document them until I can no longer. They are my muses, a constant source of inspiration even when my inspiration has run dry. They are patient with me, allowing me to create art of my greatest accomplishments. The work I'm showing is not just mine, but it is ours as a family. A collaboration of a years worth of working together to create a constant memory we can look back on. The flash pops and a gaze not noticed at full speed is forever frozen in time for us to always hold onto. The days will pass and we will grow old, but we will always be able to travel back. My photography is dedicated to them, I hope to capture as much as I can in my lifetime.

Josh Lasky - Bio:

I was born in Binghamton back in 1988. In 2006 I went to work for McDonald's and met the most important person in my life, my soon to be wife Alisha. We had our daughter Abigail in 2008 and our second child Elijah was coming along in 2014. This was around the time I accidentally fell in love with photography. Since then I have been teaching myself photography and studied work from both master photographers and painters. Now its 2021, I just recently had my first solo show at The Bundy Museum titled “Am I An Artist: My Quarantine Thoughts,” as well as bringing new life to this world. Our third child Oliver was born in August. I still don't know where my art is going to take me in the future, but for now I feel I'm on the right track. My biggest hope is to create honesty in all of my work and to establish photos that will last generations.
