Artist Statement by Eric Yetter:

This show largely uses images shot on expired film. I may purchase a box lot at an auction that includes a camera and film or expired film in a junk shop or thrift store. To work with expired film, I need to let go of my expectations of what I will see once my film is developed. I may get color changes or graininess or, all too often, nothing at all. I have come to embrace this loss of control and expectation. I am reminded that I am not in charge of how things will turn out. I take shots of things that strike me; I get to enjoy that instant and then see later if it has been captured for you to enjoy or if I just get to keep it for myself. There can be joy in an empty roll, too. Please enjoy these moments that made it.

Eric Yetter - Bio:

Eric is a Social Worker, Film Photographer and Zine Maker (#realtioga). Eric most often shoots with a Pentax ME, even if he has many other cameras to choose from. He is inspired and intrigued by outsider art and art created by individuals that society has given a mental health or disability diagnosis, especially James Edward Deeds Jr., Henry Darger and Judith Scott. Eric also loves found film and slides. The notion that creativity comes from everyone, even those without any formal training, means that it is an essential part of being human.
