BINGHAMTON, New York. (Dec. 8, 2023) The Bundy Museum of History and Art hosted “Bundy Fest” on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 to raise funds for the museum in response to recent financial hardships, in particular, a devastating loss suffered by the museum’s founder, who remains a major financial supporter of the nonprofit organization.

“Bundy Fest” Raises Thousands in Funds for The Bundy Museum. Fundraiser Was Held In Response to Financial Hardships.


Bundy-Fest: Save the Bundy Museum Fundraiser

Join us on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 from 12 pm - 8 pm, located at the Bundy Museum Annex Theater to help support the Bundy Museum. There will be Raffle Baskets, Food, a Silent Art Auction, and Live Music! All proceeds go to help save the Bundy Museum.

The Bundy Museum Burlap Sack Fundraiser Silent Auction

The deadline for submitting your Burlap Sack artwork for the Bundy-Fest Fundraiser has passed. Thank you to everyone who participated. We will include the piece/s to be auctioned off at a silent auction on First Friday, December 1st & our Bundy-Fest: Save the Bundy Museum Fundraiser event on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023.

Thank you to the NYSCA and MANY Partnership Grants for Capacity Building for Awarding $4,230 to
The Bundy Museum of History & Art!

The Bundy Museum of History & Art selected as a Museum Association of New York Museum partner for “Building Capacity, Creating Sustainability, Growing Accessibility.”

Binghamton, NY — The Museum Association of New York (MANY) in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) awarded a total of $502,114 to 103 grantees to assist New York museums with capacity building.

The Bundy Museum will use this grant to fund the acquisition of a new collections management system and a host computer, with the intention of overhauling our current recordkeeping and making publicly available our collections information. By opening up our catalog to the public and having a dedicated space to view objects, we hope that more people will be able to explore the history and art of our area.

We are putting out the call!

WordPlace Literary Center at the Bundy Museum is seeking a short school bus to be modeled into a "Banned Bookmobile".

We will consider purchasing a bus or providing a tax deduction for one to be donated. For full details regarding the purpose for acquiring a short school bus, please visit the WordPlace webpage.


WBDY-LP 99.5FM Is Now Broadcasting Live Online!

Inaugural Live From First Friday on July 2, 2021 at 6:00PM!!

Friends and Supporters of WBDY-LP, The Bundy Museum, and Binghamton Area Arts and Culture:

We here at The Bundy, WBDY-LP 99.5FM in Binghamton, are thrilled to announce that starting this First Friday, July 2nd, you will be able to tune in online in addition to on your radio! You will be able to find our station on our website at BundyMuseum.org/WBDY as well as on various mobile apps and streaming platforms. We will keep our website updated as we make our way to more platforms, so you can choose your best way to listen to your favorite Bundy programing, local musicians, and area radio personalities!

To celebrate our expanded listening options, we invite you to attend our inaugural Live From First Friday on July 2nd at 6:00PM. Live From First Friday is WBDY-LP’s effort to promote all the goings on during the monthly First Friday Art Walk. Every month, we will be broadcasting and streaming live music and highlighting First Friday artists and galleries.

This month, local singer-songwriter, and Bundy Museum of History and Art Board Member, Bess Greenberg, will be playing and we’ll be discussing the future of Binghamton Community Radio. Stop by in person or tune in!

The Bundy Museum of History & Art will also be having our usual First Friday gallery openings from 6:00PM-9:00PM. Both the Bundy’s local art galleries and our local photography gallery at Binghamton Photo will be available for public viewing. Come by for art, refreshments, and conversations with local artists and members of the Bundy Community. 2020 NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Treatment Grant Program Awardees

The Bundy Museum of History & Art (Broome County) has received $7,500 for the conservation of a three-unity wooden folding screen with 3 inset canvas paintings; work to be done by West Lake Conservators, LTD.

Greater Hudson Heritage Network (GHHN) is awarding $115,739 in conservation treatment grants to 22 organizations, located in 14 counties of New York State, in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).

The Conservation Treatment Grant is a partnership of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and Greater Hudson Heritage Network (GHHN), that provides support for treatment procedures by professional conservators to aid in stabilizing and preserving objects in collections of museums, historical, and cultural organizations in New York State. The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation has provided additional dedicated support for conservation treatment projects on Long Island and New York City.

MANY/IMLS CARES Act Grant Project: “Building Capacity, Creating Sustainability, Growing Accessibility”

 

The Bundy Museum of History & Art selected as a Museum Association of New York (MANY) museum partner for “Building Capacity, Creating Sustainability, Growing Accessibility.”

The Museum Association of New York (MANY) is thrilled to announce that 96 museums from across New York State have been selected to participate in “Building Capacity, Creating Sustainability, Growing Accessibility”, an IMLS CARES Act grant project designed to help museums impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic share their collections and reach audiences who cannot physically visit their museums.

In this two-year program, museums will identify a program to virtually deliver to their audiences, focusing on developing programs from stories found in their collections that reveal cultural and racial diversity in their communities.
