Artist Statement:

What happens when you are alone with your thoughts for a long period of time? Do you start to go crazy? "Do you start to become comfortable with yourself? Or do you just let the pieces of the puzzle all figure themselves out. When you commit to a half a year journey to Chile with no real thought into why you are doing it, the thoughts in my mind start to pile up. Never in a million years would I have told myself or anybody that I made the most of this experience as humanly possible. From all the weeknights of buying wine that costs less than five bucks and drinking it until watching the sunset get submerged by the Pacific Ocean, to dancing at the beach until we couldn't anymore, to going to Buenos Aires and getting to know locals, to the favelas of Rio De Janairo, and hiking a 19,000 ft mountain the driest place on earth, to surfing every weekend to help a non profit, the amount of growth I made in this short amount of time was unbelievable. Commitment to go to Chile wasn't the scary part, what was scary was finally allowing yourself to think freely and not care what anybody thinks about you to truly feel like yourself in these moments. These experiences, the people I met and the love I received from them still loom in my mind everyday, but before leaving this adventure, I had one more place to go: Patagónia. The southernmost part of the world has been a place I’ve wanted to go since I was a child, and my dream finally came true.

This is where my form of expression comes to its full potential as I truly do feel one with my environment whenever I am able to travel. Without question there are several ways people express themselves when it comes to art, for me it's through the lens of my analog camera. However this was the first time that I was not sharing my experience with anybody but myself and through my other lenses. My camera kept me company down in Patagónia and it was a two and a half week adventure that I will never forget and tell for the rest of my life. From my lens to now yours, here is my journey alone in the south and always remember "Es una locura hasta que lo haces."
